Andrew Joy
Andrew specialises in programming game mechanics - from weapons systems to dialogue trees, and everything in between. He believes that the atmosphere of a game is just as important as the core mechanic and so focuses heavily on the ‘small details’, such as juicy transitions and interactive feedback.
Background
Upon graduating from university in 2010, Andrew was offered a spot on a virtual world research team - where he spent the next 3 years building MMORPG-like systems for the medical and tertiary education industries. Eventually his desire to make ‘real games’ grew, and alongside a few like-minded individuals he founded 2Bit Studios.

At request of James Cook University, we took our game Laser Space Monks on the road to high schools to promote the new JCU majors on offer the following year. The kids couldn’t get enough of it, especially when put head to head with their teachers!

In response, the wealthy United Peace Corporation of tech giants created B.O.M.B. - the Big Ol’ Malware Bomb, a suite of bugs, viruses, worms, and overly-helpful paperclips that eventually wiped out all traces of Raptor.
